How We Manage Dust and Air Quality During Construction

Construction is a messy process. Cutting, sanding, drilling, and demolition produce enormous quantities of dust and airborne particles — and in an enclosed space like a home under construction or a remodeling project, that dust goes everywhere. At Eiger Homes, we take air quality during construction seriously.

Why Construction Dust Matters

Construction dust isn't just an inconvenience — it's a health concern. Fine particulate matter produced during cutting and finishing can cause respiratory irritation, and for workers spending full days on site, prolonged exposure is a genuine risk. Managing dust is both a quality-of-work issue and a safety issue.

For remodeling projects in occupied homes, dust control is also about respecting the homeowner's space — keeping the disruption contained and the rest of the home livable during construction. Here's how we manage it.

HEPA Filtration Units

In all of our new home builds, we set up HEPA filtration units inside the home during construction. These units run continuously, filtering the air and removing dust and allergens produced during the building process. The result is a cleaner work environment for our Trade Partners and a cleaner home when construction is complete.

Zip Wall for Remodeling Projects

On remodeling projects in occupied homes, we take an additional step: we install a Zip Wall dust prevention barrier around the work area. This contains dust within the construction zone, allowing the rest of the home to remain clean and functional throughout the project.

Inside the Zip Wall barrier, the HEPA filtration units run continuously — so even within the work area, dust is actively managed rather than allowed to accumulate.

The Result

A cleaner construction process that protects our Trade Partners, respects our homeowners, and delivers a home that doesn't carry the residue of its own construction. It's one of the ways we make a complicated process more manageable for everyone involved.

That's #BuiltBetter.
